Support

It is essential that JET participants maintain good communication and work cooperatively with the members of their contracting organisations: supervisors, superiors and colleagues. However, in any international setting, from time to time difficulties and misunderstandings may arise.

For more detailed information, visit the JET Programme website’s Support page or consult the GIH.

Ibaraki Block Leaders

Block Leaders are appointed to help the Prefectural Advisors in ensuring the safety and well-being of the JETs in their respective regions, as well as to promote their areas through social gatherings. Ibaraki is divided into five “blocks” or regions, and each block has a designated “leader.”

Northern Block (県北): Sam C.

Central Block (県央): Ludo D.

Eastern Block (県東): Emily W.

Southern Block (県南): Casey G.

Western Block (県西): Karen M.

Kasama Block  (笠間):  Rowelanne S.

Prefectural Advisors

Certain ALTs, CIRs, and Japanese local government employees serve as prefectural advisors in each host prefecture/designated city and often work in the prefecture or designated city’s international affairs division or board of education. They can provide useful information for JET participants and contracting organisations, however JET participants should contact their contracting organisation before contacting a prefectural advisor.

Ibaraki Prefecture has four Prefectural Advisors:

  • Jana Tomita (ALT/PA)
  • Cassandra Walker (CIR/PA)
  • Anthony Shima (CIR/PA)
  • Eriko Iimura (JET Supervisor/Japanese PA)

More information can be found on the PSG Wiki page.
